Rest Stop

Rest Stop is in development as a feature film at Coin Operated, the production banner founded by IT and Annabelle writer-producer Gary Dauberman. The project is based on Nat Cassidy's horror novella, which follows a musician locked inside a gas station restroom in the middle of the night, caught between the horrors on the other side of the door and the horrors rapidly crawling down the walls inside. Cassidy is writing the screenplay, with Dauberman and Coin Operated president Mia Maniscalco producing. The source material, part of Cassidy's collection I Know A Place: Rest Stop and Other Dark Detours published by Shortwave and Simon & Schuster in May 2026, was a 2024 Bram Stoker Award finalist. Coin Operated operates under a first-look deal with Sony/Screen Gems and has horror projects Passenger and The Revenge of La Llorona on its upcoming slate.
