Project Summary

Pops is an EMT drama in development at NBC, written by Chicago Med veteran Danny Weiss. Kelsey Grammer is attached to star as the title character, a man who ages out of a successful career and seeks a fresh start by jumping into the chaotic world of emergency medicine alongside first responders half his age. The project is inspired by the real-life story of Ed Levien, a Maryland resident who became a volunteer EMT in his 60s and worked for twelve years before retiring at 76. Grammer will executive produce alongside Weiss, Levien, and Jordan McMahon via Grammnet NH Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment. Universal Television serves as the studio for the potential NBC series.
