Mistborn

Mistborn is an epic fantasy feature film in development at Apple TV+, adapting Brandon Sanderson's The Final Empire, the first novel in his acclaimed Cosmere universe. Sanderson has just completed the first draft of the screenplay, which he wrote himself over several months as part of an unprecedented creative deal with Apple. The author retains full creative control as writer and producer, with approval rights over casting and key creative decisions. The film follows a world ruled by an immortal dictator where a street thief discovers she possesses Allomancy, the ability to draw power from ingested metals, and joins a crew of rebels plotting revolution. A producer has been hired for the project, though a director search has not yet begun. The project is still in early development, with the screenplay undergoing revisions before moving into pre-production.
