Mammoth

Mammoth is a half-hour comedy series that Fox has greenlighted for its 2027-28 season. The show follows Coach Tony Mammoth, a larger-than-life high school gym teacher whose life is put on ice in 1983 when he's buried in a freak ski avalanche. Four decades later, he thaws out to discover a world that has completely changed, though he's convinced it really didn't need to. Still clinging to life in the '80s—complete with his Burt Reynolds mustache and treasured Trans-AM—Mammoth returns to the job he loves, only to find that today's rules, relationships, and realities bear little resemblance to the world he once knew. The series is written and showrun by Christopher Lloyd and Danny Zuker, the Emmy-winning duo behind Modern Family's eleven-season run. The show is based on the BBC Two comedy of the same name created by Welsh comedian Mike Bubbins. Fox Entertainment Studios produces the series, with BBC Studios Los Angeles executive producing alongside Lloyd, Zuker, Bubbins, Mark Linsey, and Angie Stephenson.
