Hotaru's Way

Hotaru's Way is in development as a U. S. television series from Unapologetic Projects, the company behind the Sundance-winning film Dìdi. The adaptation is based on Satoru Hiura's manga that has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and previously inspired two live-action Japanese series and a feature film. Writers Angela Nissel, known for her work on Scrubs and Ginny & Georgia, and Sasha Leigh Henry, who created Bria Mack Gets a Life, are penning the script. Paige Hooper, Unapologetic Projects' Head of Television, will produce alongside Motoko Kimura and Kate Kugler. The series follows Hotaru, a professional executive assistant who maintains two distinct lives—polished and put-together at the office, relaxed and casual at home—until circumstances force her to reconcile both worlds. The project marks Unapologetic Projects' expansion into television development.
