Gladys

Gladys is a prequel feature in development at New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. , exploring the backstory of the breakout villain from Zach Cregger's Weapons. Cregger is co-writing the script with Zach Shields, known for his work on the Monsterverse franchise including Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The project reunites Cregger with producers Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo Entertainment, who produced the original Weapons. At Comic-Con 2026, Cregger confirmed the script is in progress and teased that there's an amazing story to be told about where Gladys comes from and how she became the character audiences saw in Weapons. The filmmaker has not yet confirmed whether he will direct the prequel himself. The project has a September 2028 release date set at Warner Bros.
