Warner Bros. Pictures is one of Hollywood's 'Big Five' major studios and the flagship theatrical production and distribution label of the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, a division of Warner Bros. Discovery. Founded on April 4, 1923, the studio is headquartered at the 142-acre Warner Bros. Studios complex in Burbank, California, and is the third oldest American film studio still in continuous operation. It produces and distributes a broad global slate of live-action and animated features — through its Warner Bros. Pictures Animation banner — with iconic franchises including DC, Harry Potter/Wizarding World, The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, The Matrix, and many more. As of July 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery has announced plans to separate into two companies in mid-2026, with Warner Bros. Pictures remaining within the 'Warner Bros.' streaming-and-studios entity.
