Project Summary
Omnifilm Entertainment is developing an English-language adaptation of the Korean crime thriller series The Good Detective, relocating the story from South Korea to Prince George, British Columbia. Renuka Singh is writing the pilot script for the proposed series, which will follow two detectives newly partnered when a shock confession throws a previous murder conviction into doubt. Reopening the cold case leads them toward hidden community secrets and corruption that may be protecting a killer. The project adapts the original Korean series produced by Seoul-based studio SLL, which aired on JTBC and reached international audiences through Netflix. Janice Chua and Sean Dulake are executive producing through Third Culture Content, partnering with Omnifilm and SLL from early development. Once Singh's pilot script is complete, the series will be pitched to Canadian and U. S. broadcasters and streamers.
