Diya

Diya is an original animated musical in development at Paramount Animation, bringing together a creative team with deep roots in both Hollywood and South Asian storytelling. Director Nitya Mehra, known for her work on the Prime Video series Made in Heaven and the film Baar Baar Dekho, is attached to helm the project. Writers Jaydeep Hasrajani and Jake Goldman are crafting the screenplay, with Hasrajani bringing his experience as creator of Netflix's Boons and Curses and Goldman's Emmy-nominated credits spanning Futurama to DC Metalforce. The producing team includes Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley through their GoldDay banner, working under a first-look deal with Paramount, alongside Kunal Nayyar producing through his Good Karma company. Reel FX Animation Studios, which originated the project, is set to produce the feature, with Sara Smith overseeing for GoldDay and Logan Kovarick executive producing.
