Project Summary
Divine Rivals is a fantasy romance feature in early development at Disney Live Action, based on Rebecca Ross's bestselling novel from the Letters of Enchantment series. The project previously was at Paramount before rights lapsed following the Skydance acquisition, and Disney is now starting development from scratch with a new screenwriter. Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Pouya Shahbazian remain attached, with Ross and Stephen Shafer executive producing. Disney SVP of Production Allison Erlikhman is overseeing for the studio, reporting to Disney Live Action President Daria Cercek. The novel has sold over 1 million copies and spent 104 weeks on the New York Times Young Adult Bestseller List. With the project in its earliest development phase, no production timeline, cast, or release strategy has been announced.
