Detective Agent Derek

Detective Agent Derek is an animated comedy series in development at Hulu, created by Nick Kreiss alongside the animation collective Big Grey Mass—Julian Bonosconi, Griffin Poole, and Spencer Rich. The show takes the structure of a serious crime procedural and filters it through internet subcultures, with each episode tackling murders, conspiracies, and criminal organizations while centering on Derek, an unlikely hero. Executive producers include Kreiss, Bonosconi, Poole, Douglas Banker, and Conor Welch. Kreiss previously collaborated with Hulu on the animated series Bad Friends and has credits on Jackass Forever and The Eric Andre Show. Big Grey Mass describes their work as making animation soup for the soul. The project is in the pitch-to-development stage with no production timeline or casting announced yet.
