Big Grey Mass

Big Grey Mass is an independent animation production collective based in the United States, made up of a trio of animators, writers, and directors — Julian Bonosconi, Griffin Poole, and Spencer Rich — who are longtime friends originally from Orem, Utah. The group brands itself as making 'animation soup for the soul,' working across animation, music, and visual art. In July 2026, Hulu acquired their animated TV comedy pitch 'Detective Agent Derek,' co-created with producer Nick Kreiss, marking a significant breakthrough for the self-taught collective. They are represented by Mosaic and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum.
