Project Summary
Confession of Murder is a feature film in development at Universal Pictures, with Chris MacBride writing the script for a remake of Jung Byung-gil's 2012 Korean thriller. Glen Powell and Dan Cohen are producing through their Barnstorm banner alongside Naomi Funabashi and Rishi Rajani of Winged Tiger Productions, with Jacquelina Rosso co-producing. The original film centered on a detective's investigation after a suspected killer publishes a memoir detailing murders committed before the statute of limitations expired. Universal's Christine Sun is overseeing the project for the studio. MacBride, known for The Conspiracy and Flashback, recently wrote Netflix's Kingmakers and Amazon MGM's The Wolf. Barnstorm, which signed a first-look deal with Universal in early 2025, is building a slate of theatrical entertainment with producing partner Dan Cohen, formerly of 21 Laps.
