Untitled Curry Barker Horror Project

Curry Barker has closed an eight-figure deal with Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster for his third studio feature, an original horror film based on a pitch to Universal's top brass. The project reunites Barker with the Blumhouse Atomic Monster team that executive produced his breakout hit Obsession, which became Focus Features' highest-grossing release of all time. Barker will write, direct, and produce the film, with James Wan and Jason Blum producing through Blumhouse Atomic Monster alongside Roy Lee and Steven Schneider's Spooky Pictures and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath's Divide/Conquer. Plot details remain under wraps. Universal Film Group will distribute worldwide. The deal followed a bidding war among studios eager to secure Barker's next project after Obsession crossed $300 million globally.
