Project Summary

The Blair Witch Project reboot is gearing up for a fall 2026 shoot under director Dylan Clark, marking the first time the original creative team has been directly involved in a new entry since the 1999 phenomenon. Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams, stars of the first film, will executive produce alongside original directors Eduardo Sánchez and Daniel Myrick and producer Gregg Hale. Clark is rewriting a screenplay by Chris Thomas Devlin. The project reunites horror powerhouses Jason Blum of Blumhouse and James Wan of Atomic Monster with producer Roy Lee. Lionsgate is financing with a $10 million budget and will retain domestic and UK distribution rights. Production is targeting fall 2026, with the reboot representing the first film in a multi-picture deal between Lionsgate and Blumhouse reimagining horror classics from the Lionsgate library.
