Wolf's Belly

Wolf's Belly is a live-action feature film adaptation of John August's 2026 graphic novel, currently in development at Sony Pictures. August, the acclaimed screenwriter behind Big Fish and Aladdin, will adapt his own work for the screen. Four-time Oscar winner Alfonso Cuarón is producing through his Esperanto Filmoj banner, alongside longtime producing partner Gabriela Rodriguez. Richard Schwartz serves as executive producer for Esperanto Filmoj. The project reimagines Little Red Riding Hood as a fantasy adventure set inside the wolf's belly, where the heroine and her grandmother encounter other fairy tale characters including the Boy Who Cried Wolf and a fourth Little Pig. Sony won the rights after a competitive bidding war that included Amazon. The creative team has decided to pursue live-action rather than animation, with the project being developed for all audiences.
