Wingmom

Wingmom is an R-rated comedy feature that Netflix acquired in a preemptive script deal with writer Sam Laybourne, co-executive producer of the CBS sitcom Ghosts. The spec script follows a devoted single mother who becomes her adult son's unlikely dating coach when she learns he's considering withdrawing from romance entirely. Jeff Robinov is producing alongside Tabitha Shick of Talking Pictures. The project is being positioned as a strong vehicle for an actress, with at least one already expressing interest, though no cast has been officially announced. The film is expected to follow in the vein of early Judd Apatow comedies. This marks Laybourne's second recent feature sale following his Amazon spec The Wedding Exorcist.
