Project Summary
We Solve Murders is in development at Netflix as a six-part drama series based on Richard Osman's 2024 bestselling mystery novel. The adaptation marks Osman's first television series following the success of The Thursday Murder Club film. The story follows Steve Wheeler, a retired detective enjoying quiet life, and his daughter-in-law Amy Wheeler, a private security professional whose high-stakes job protecting novelist Rosie D'Antonio leads to a murder investigation. The globe-trotting mystery series is being developed with locations including St. Lucia and Southern Ireland. Osman confirmed the project is currently in active development with Netflix, though no showrunner, director, cast, or production timeline has been announced. The source material became a New York Times bestseller upon publication in September 2024, with sequel We Chase Shadows releasing September 2026.
