Untitled Ozzy Osbourne Biopic
Project Summary
Sony Pictures and Polygram Entertainment are developing a feature biopic about Ozzy Osbourne, the late Black Sabbath frontman who died in July 2025. The project is being produced by Sharon Osbourne alongside her children Jack and Aimée, with Lee Hall—who wrote Rocketman—penning the screenplay. The film narrows its focus to the tail end of Ozzy's Black Sabbath career, his transition to solo work in the early 1980s, and the pivotal relationship between Ozzy and Sharon. The script is complete and the producing team is currently meeting with directors. In an ideal timeline, production would begin in spring or summer 2027, with a 2028 theatrical release targeted. Jack Osbourne has emphasized the film will be a fan-focused celebration rather than an artsy interpretation, honoring the audience his father performed for throughout his career.
