Untitled FlyDubai Hijacking Film

Dori Media Group and India's Sphereorigin are developing a narrative feature film about the September 30, 2026 FlyDubai hijacking incident. The project centers on the heroic actions of Captain Smit Machchhar, who despite being stabbed by the co-pilot during an attempted terror attack, managed to unlock the cockpit door, allowing passengers to subdue the attacker and save the aircraft. The collaboration between the Tel Aviv-based Dori Media and Mumbai-based Sphereorigin came together at MIPCOM in Cannes in October 2026, with both companies expressing a desire to tell this inspirational story of courage and survival. The project is currently seeking a writer and director, with an accelerated production timeline targeting a 2027 release.
