Torpedo
Project Summary
Torpedo is a Danish crime thriller directed by Frederik Louis Hviid and co-written with acclaimed screenwriter Tobias Lindholm. The film explores the dark phenomenon of 'torpedoes'—children and teenagers groomed and weaponized by organized crime gangs in Denmark. SF Studios is producing with Marcella Dichmann as lead producer, while Copenhagen-based sales company LevelK has boarded international sales in partnership with SF Studios. The story centers on 16-year-old Kian, who must take a train from Aarhus to Copenhagen to carry out a violent assignment after a drug deal goes wrong. Developed from extensive research and interviews with police, lawyers, researchers, and young people in sheltered institutions, the project represents a collaboration between Hviid—whose previous work includes the Venice-selected Shorta and award-winning series Prisoner—and Lindholm, co-writer of the Oscar-winning Another Round. The film is expected to premiere in Danish cinemas in 2027, with SF Studios handling distribution.
