The Chop is an indie biopic in development that traces the real-life journey of Stephen Matt Morrow, known professionally as Vegas Matt. Red Leaf Entertainment is developing the project as a rags-to-riches drama, with filmmaker Mike Young penning the script and producing. The story centers on Morrow, a dedicated husband and father whose life transforms when he enters the high-stakes world of advantage gambling in Las Vegas. The narrative follows his connection with a group of misfit gamblers and his rise to fame as a gambling influencer, while exploring the challenges that come with his success. Young, who previously wrote and directed Stealing Jokes starring Michael Rapaport, was hired directly by Vegas Matt to tell his story. The film is eyeing a 2027 production start, though a director has not yet been announced. Additional financing, production, and casting details are expected to be shared at a later date.
