Streets of Rage

Streets of Rage is in development at Lionsgate, with writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller—the team behind the Sonic the Hedgehog film trilogy—attached to pen the screenplay. Jeymes Samuel, director of The Harder They Fall and The Book of Clarence, has signed on to helm. The project builds on an earlier draft by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, who remains onboard as a producer. The producing team includes Sega's Toru Nakahara, Story Kitchen's Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson, and Escape Artists' Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Tony Shaw. Casey and Miller are also executive producing alongside Elena Sandoval. The film is described as leaning heavily into the cult classic game's iconic characters, electronic soundtracks, and beat 'em up action. No production timeline has been announced.
