Todd Black (born February 9, 1960, Dallas, TX) is one of Hollywood's most respected and prolific film and television producers, best known for his decades-long creative partnership with Denzel Washington across multiple August Wilson adaptations and franchise action films. He co-founded Escape Artists in 2000 alongside Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, an independently financed production company with a first-look deal at Sony Pictures Entertainment housed on the Sony lot in Culver City. His credits span Oscar-nominated prestige dramas including Fences (2017 Best Picture nominee), Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, and Being the Ricardos, as well as the Equalizer trilogy, The Magnificent Seven, and The Pursuit of Happyness. Upcoming projects include Masters of the Universe for Amazon Studios, Madden (dir. David O. Russell) for Amazon, Voicemails for Isabelle for Netflix, and DTF St. Louis for HBO.
