Goldfish

Goldfish is an indie feature dramedy from first-time screenwriter Jonathan Yu, now in pre-production with Monarch Media. Steve Barnett, Alan Powell, and Vicky Patel are producing through their company, which previously co-produced Hit Man with Richard Linklater and financed Journey to Bethlehem for Sony Pictures. The trio is currently seeking a director for the project. Yu, a UC San Diego biology graduate, drew on his high school swim-team experiences for the script, which Patel discovered through a cold email. Monarch Media typically develops two to three features annually across genres and budgets. No shooting locations or production dates have been announced.
