Project Summary
Shania is a biographical film about country-pop superstar Shania Twain in development at Sony Pictures. Leah McKendrick will write and direct from her original script, drawing on her background as a pop singer-songwriter. Twain herself is producing alongside Amie Karp, with a previous script by Jessica Welsh also in the mix. The project joins Sony's slate of major music biopics, following Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody and the upcoming Beatles project from Sam Mendes.
