Project Summary
Paddy Power is a feature film in development from Irish production company Playhouse Studios, charting the controversial rise of the gambling giant. Matt Lipsey, known for his work on Ted Lasso and Inside No. 9, will direct from a screenplay by Dale Longmore, John Quinn, and Brian Durnin, adapted from Aaron Rogan's 2021 investigative book. The film stars Brian Gleeson, Colm Meaney, Alex Murphy, and Aidan Gillen, marking a significant milestone as the first announcement from Playhouse Studios' original scripted slate. The project tells the story of how one company bet big on brash advertising and brought online gambling to every corner of the globe, with Playhouse Studios describing it as a narrative that resonates with audiences far beyond Ireland.
