My Best Life
Project Summary
My Best Life marks the directorial debut of French actress Elsa Zylberstein, who co-directs and stars alongside Michael Pierrard. The comedy-drama follows a struggling actress who constructs an increasingly elaborate fantasy to sustain her mother's belief that she has achieved stardom. Inspired by Zylberstein's viral lockdown sketches "Mytho du soir," the film features Miou-Miou as the mother and Mathieu Demy as a childhood friend, with Lucas Bravo in talks to join. UGC produces with backing from Canal+ and France Télévisions on a €3. 6 million budget. The production has assembled a notable crew including production designer Jean Rabasse, costume designer Pascaline Chavanne, and Oscar-winning sound designer Nicolas Becker. Zylberstein co-wrote the screenplay with Pierrard, a longtime assistant director whose credits include work with Claude Lelouch, Leos Carax, and Sofia Coppola.
