Joe Dirt

Joe Dirt returns as an animated series in development at Fox, with David Spade reprising his iconic role as the voice of the eternally optimistic janitor with the unfused mullet. Written by Scott Gairdner, the series picks up 25 years after the 2001 cult classic comedy, following Joe as he balances married life with Brandy and raising three teenage daughters while facing bigger problems than his trusty mop and bucket can handle. Spade executive produces alongside Fred Wolf, his co-writer from the original film, as well as Gairdner, Doug Robinson, and Lauren Moffat. The animated series is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment. Gairdner brings animation experience from creating Comedy Central's Moonbeam City, writing for Fox's HouseBroken, and executive producing Netflix's Saturday Morning All Star Hits. This marks the second attempt at animating Joe Dirt, following a previous 2010 TBS development that didn't move forward.
