Holding Court

Holding Court is a character-driven legal dramedy in development at ABC. The one-hour series follows a paralegal and an unconventional attorney who join forces to manage her late father's law firm. Written and executive produced by Alfredo Barrios Jr. , the project draws on his background as a Harvard Law-educated attorney who practiced corporate litigation for five years before transitioning to television. Ross Fineman of Fineman Entertainment serves as executive producer, marking his return to ABC where he previously executive produced David E. Kelley's Big Sky. The network is extending its successful character-driven procedural formula—seen in series like The Rookie, High Potential, and Will Trent—into the legal genre with this project.
