Gunsmoke & Mirrors

Gunsmoke & Mirrors is a scripted drama series in development from an international partnership between Denmark's Lunderskov Magic, the UK's CMG Productions, and producers Nicole Finnan and Allan Sperling. The series chronicles the life of Christian Rørmose Madsen, a Danish criminal who emigrated to America in the 1870s and became a decorated U. S. Marshal, known as one of the Three Guardsmen who brought law to the American frontier. Created by Michael Lunderskov, the project is based on Madsen's autobiography and Frans Ørsted Andersen's biography Et Liv På Kanten (A Life on the Edge), which the production companies have optioned. Set in the late 19th century, the series explores themes of identity, reinvention, and the immigrant experience in the American West. Alongside the drama series, the team is also developing Danish and English-language podcasts and a documentary about Madsen.
