Project Summary
Paramount+ has greenlit a six-episode limited series sequel to Clueless, with Alicia Silverstone reprising her role as Cher Horowitz three decades after the original film. The series is written and executive produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The O. C. , Gossip Girl) through their Fake Empire banner, alongside Jordan Weiss (Freakier Friday, Dollface). Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the 1995 film, returns as executive producer along with original producer Robert Lawrence and Silverstone. CBS Studios is producing for Paramount+. Production is set to begin in Los Angeles in 2027, with the project having submitted paperwork to the California Film Commission for state tax subsidies. The series follows Cher as a successful businesswoman and mother who feels lost all over again when parenting her teenage daughter.
