Project Summary

Armadillo World Headquarters is a feature-length documentary in development that explores one of Austin's most influential music venues. Directed and edited by David Brodie, the project is produced by Woody Harrelson alongside Angus Wall, Eve Kornblum, Kent Kubena, and Terry Leonard of MakeMake, with Marcus Peterzell and Amy Slotnick from Passion Point Collective. The film will trace how the venue served as a cultural crossroads where outlaw country, rock, blues, and counterculture converged during the 1970s, launching careers and breaking genre barriers. Drawing on a restored archive of over 100 audio and video recordings from the venue's heyday, the documentary will feature footage of performances by Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Garcia, and other iconic artists. Production companies include MakeMake and Passion Point Collective, with additional production partners expected to be announced.
