Project Summary
A reboot of 7th Heaven is in development at CBS Studios, with original series star Jessica Biel executive producing through her Iron Ocean banner. Anthony Sparks, known for his work on Queen Sugar and Bel-Air, will serve as showrunner and writer, with DeVon Franklin and Michelle Purple also attached as executive producers. The new iteration will center on a diverse family rather than returning to the Camden clan, with no original cast members expected to appear. Biel has indicated the reboot will tackle contemporary family issues including technology, school pressures, bullying, drugs, and alcohol, while maintaining the family-viewing appeal of the original but with fewer limitations. The project remains in early development with no network or streaming platform yet attached.
