6TM

6TM is a Belgian family comedy in development, blending magical realism with social commentary. Directed by Karim Akalay and set in Brussels' Cité Modèle housing estate—where Akalay was born—the film follows three interwoven stories across one family during a sweltering summer. Two kids chase a magic lamp to help a wheelchair-using friend threatened by broken elevators; a teenage girl assembles a misfit soccer team; and a mother rallies neighbors to uncover who stole the rain. The project recently won the New Visions Award at Ji. hlava Documentary Film Festival, bringing post-production support and industry recognition. Produced by Walid Bekhti and Hanoulia Salamé for Centre Vidéo de Bruxelles, with backing from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Groupe Ouest, and the New Dawn Fund. Filming is planned for July 2027 in Brussels, using non-professional actors and real neighborhood stories. The project emphasizes collective strength over individual heroism and targets both family and younger audiences.
