DC Comics, formally known as DC Entertainment and originally founded in 1934 as National Allied Publications, is one of the largest and oldest American comic book publishers, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Home to iconic characters including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman, DC publishes hundreds of comics, graphic novels, and digital titles annually under imprints including DC Black Label, DC Ink, DC Zoom, DC's Young Animal, Jinxworld, and Wonder Comics. As of 2025, DC is the second-largest publisher in the direct market (after Marvel) and operates DC Universe Infinite, its digital comics subscription platform, while its intellectual properties extend across film, television, animation, video games, and consumer products via DC Studios (co-led by James Gunn and Peter Safran) and Warner Bros. Discovery.
