Project Summary
The Glass House is currently filming in Budapest as a Swiss-Hungarian co-production directed and written by Peter Luisi. The historical drama tells the true story of Swiss Vice-Consul Carl Lutz, who risked his diplomatic career and personal safety to rescue tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews during the Nazi occupation of Budapest in 1944. Max Simonischek stars as Carl Lutz, with Miriam Stein as his wife Gertrud, and Ádám Tompa as Miklós Krausz. The production is being produced by Zurich-based Spotlight Media Productions in partnership with Hungary's LaokoonFilmgroup, with additional co-production support from SRF, Contrast Film Bern, and Sky. The film is utilizing Hungary's 30% tax rebate system and has received production support from the National Film Institute of Hungary. Shooting is taking place partly in Budapest and Switzerland, with a planned Swiss theatrical release in late 2027 through DCM.
