Project Summary

Apple Cadabra – I Shrunk Myself is an animated feature film in production from Akkord Film, the German animation studio behind The Elfkins and Rabbit Academy. Directed by Ute von Münchow-Pohl and Felix Schichl, with a screenplay by Claudio Winter and Seraina Nyikos, the film adapts the bestselling Petronella Applesauce book series by Sabine Städing. The story centers on two children who find themselves magically shrunk into Petronella's enchanted garden, experiencing an extraordinary world from a tiny perspective. Producers Dirk Beinhold and Valentin Greulich lead the project for Akkord Film, with co-production partners including Seru Animation, PFX, VAST, and JewelLabs Pictures. Character design is by Oliver Kurth. Tobis Film will distribute theatrically in Germany, while Epsilon Film has acquired worldwide rights and is launching international sales at the American Film Market in November 2026. The film combines fantasy adventure with themes of friendship, courage, and belonging.
