Project Summary
Arena marks Salma Hayek Pinault's theatrical directorial debut, a project she also wrote and stars in alongside Oscar nominee Yura Borisov and Cara Delevingne. The independently financed romantic adventure explores forbidden love, intimacy, and the healing power of desire through what Hayek Pinault describes as an intimate journey of human connection. Angelina Jolie is producing alongside Hayek Pinault, Stacy Perskie, and longtime producing partner Jose Tamez. The production is currently shooting across the Mexican states of Quintana Roo and Veracruz, with cinematographer Philippe Le Sourd capturing the region's landscapes. Hayek Pinault previously won a Daytime Emmy for directing 'The Maldonado Miracle,' but this represents her first feature film intended for theatrical release.
