Project Summary
Sláva is a feature documentary currently in production from Slovak filmmaker and social anthropologist Soňa G. Lutherová. The film follows opera director Sláva Daubnerová across Europe's major opera houses as she explores themes of artistic identity, personal sacrifice, and the search for happiness. Peter Veverka and Maroš Hečko are producing through AZYL Production in Slovakia, with co-producers Marta Zaccaron and Fabiana Balsamo through Italy's Incipit Film, Karla Stojáková through Czech Republic's Film Kolektiv, and Slovakia's public television STVR. The documentary is shooting in Slovakia, Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic, with production scheduled to wrap in summer 2028. The film has received support from the Slovak Audiovisual Fund and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, with an estimated budget of 300,000 EUR and a provisional premiere planned for autumn 2027.
