About

Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS; Slovak: Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska) was Slovakia's nationwide, state-funded public broadcaster, operating both television and radio services from 1 January 2011 until 1 July 2024. It was formed through the merger of Slovenská televízia (Slovak Television) and Slovenský rozhlas (Slovak Radio), and operated four national TV channels (Jednotka, Dvojka, :Šport, :24) and nine national radio stations. A member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), RTVS was formally dissolved on 1 July 2024 by Act No. 157/2024 and replaced by Slovak Television and Radio (STVR), which inherited its assets, rights, and obligations.
