Shifter

Shifter is in development at Hulu as a sci-fi series based on Koren Shadmi's Hachette graphic novel. The project is being written by Ezra Claytan Daniels and Eli Jorné, both from the Severance team, with Adam Scott executive producing through his Great Scott Productions banner alongside Naomi Scott and Kevin Cotter. Shadmi will serve as consulting producer. The story follows Rose, an aspiring actress who uses a facial implant to impersonate anyone her clients desire—from ex-wives to family members—while struggling to maintain her own identity in an increasingly alienated society. The concept was inspired by Japan's family rental agencies. Daniels is a writer on Severance season three and is also penning the People Under the Stairs remake for Monkeypaw Productions, while Jorné is an executive producer on Severance season three and previously created and showran The Walking Dead: Dead City.
