Project Summary
Rambling is a 30-minute sitcom special currently in production for BBC One, BBC Scotland, and BBC iPlayer. Mark Bonnar stars as Gerry, a careful planner fulfilling a promise to his recently deceased brother, while Ashley Jensen plays Cat, who's flying solo after being thrown out of a walking group meant to be her fresh start. The pair navigate the rural Scottish landscape as unlikely travelling companions, discovering shared ground as they walk and talk. Written by Iain Connell and Sharon Young (The Scotts, Burnistoun), the project is produced by The Comedy Unit with Ollie Parsons directing. The special is filming in Scotland, bringing together a reunion of Bonnar and Jensen, who previously worked together on Catastrophe. The production explores themes of loss, loneliness, and connection against the breathtaking Scottish countryside.
