Project Summary
Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story is a new music-and-dance-fueled film expanding the Descendants franchise for Disney Channel and Disney+. The project shifts focus from the children of heroes and villains to the descendants of legendary sidekicks from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and The Emperor's New Groove. Director Jude Weng helms the production from a screenplay by Tamara Chestna, Eydie Faye, and Emma Fletcher. The cast includes Dior Goodjohn as Jennie, daughter of the Genie, alongside Momona Tamada, Jacob Rodriguez, Eva Fossaceca Smedley, and Harry Jones. Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming executive produce alongside Gary Marsh and Chestna, who previously worked on Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. Production begins in mid-August 2026 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with choreography by Louise Hradsky and Jeffrey Mortensen. The film is produced by Disney Kids & Family.
