Project Summary
La Foudre is currently in production in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of France, directed by Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu. The film is an adaptation of Pierric Bailly's 2023 novel of the same name, marking the second collaboration between the Larrieu brothers and the writer following Le Roman de Jim. Hafsia Herzi leads the cast as Jeanne, a shepherd in her late thirties living in a remote Pyrenean valley, alongside Arieh Worthalter and Sara Giraudeau. The production is being mounted by Nord-Ouest Films with support from Arte France Cinéma and distributed by Lucky Number. Principal photography began in late May 2026 and is scheduled to continue through mid-July in the Béarn region and Vallée d'Aspe. The project represents a return to the intimate, nature-centered storytelling that has defined the Larrieu brothers' work.
