Harlem Trilogy
Project Summary
Apple TV+ is developing a series based on Colson Whitehead's Harlem trilogy, which includes the novels Harlem Shuffle, Crook Manifesto, and Cool Machine. Graham Yost, the showrunner behind Silo, is adapting the project alongside Aric Avelino, with both serving as executive producers. The producing team includes Oscar-winning director Barry Jenkins, who previously collaborated with Whitehead on The Underground Railroad for Amazon, along with Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak from Pastel, Melissa Bernstein from Special Interests, and Whitehead himself. Set in New York across three decades, the crime series follows Ray Carney, a furniture salesman drawn into Harlem's criminal underworld. The project is in early development, with no production timeline yet announced.
