Pastel

Pastel (often stylized as PASTEL) is an American film and television production company co-founded by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins alongside producers Adele Romanski, Mark Ceryak, and Sara Murphy. Founded as a home for artists to create provocative, boundary-pushing work in film, television, and beyond, the company functions as an incubator and development support system for emerging and established filmmakers taking on challenging and groundbreaking works. Pastel is best known for producing Moonlight (2016), winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, and has since produced acclaimed works including If Beale Street Could Talk, The Underground Railroad, True Detective: Night Country, Aftersun, and Sorry, Baby. The company has held successive first-look television deals at Amazon Studios (2018–2021) and HBO/HBO Max (2021–2023), with A24 as a longstanding creative partner.
