Deadlocked

Deadlocked is an action thriller in development at Amazon MGM Studios, starring Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx as a grieving former Marine caught in a courthouse siege. The project marks director Nikhil Bhat's first English-language feature after his breakout Hindi action-thriller Kill, which sold to Lionsgate following its Toronto International Film Festival premiere. The screenplay comes from Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack, based on their original idea about a trial that turns deadly when the defendant's daughter takes over the courthouse. Producing are Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger for Range, Dave Caplan for C2, and Foxx himself through Foxxhole Productions—companies that previously collaborated on Longlegs and The Monkey. The film will stream globally on Prime Video, though production dates have not yet been announced.
