Project Summary
Coach is heading back to NBC as a single-camera comedy reboot, with Ty Burrell attached as executive producer and potential star. The project marks a shift from the original series' football focus to college basketball, following a legendary coach who returns to Minnesota to revive his former school's basketball program. Writers Matthew Libman and Daniel Libman, who co-created Peacock's Mr. Throwback, are developing the script alongside Burrell. Universal Television and Davis Entertainment are producing, with John Davis and John Fox executive producing. The reboot remains in development without a series order or confirmed production timeline. This represents NBC's second attempt to revive the franchise, following a 2015 sequel series that was abandoned after filming one episode.
