Project Summary
This Summer Will Be Different returns to production with its main trio now cast. Netflix's ten-episode adaptation of Carley Fortune's bestselling romance novel follows Lucy (Sophie Nélisse), who navigates her twenties while caught between her best friend Bridget (Francesca Reale) and Bridget's brother Felix (Roby Attal) during summers on Prince Edward Island. Created and showrun by Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart, the series is produced by Sphere Media with Fortune serving as executive producer alongside Jennifer Kawaja and Elise Cousineau. Production is scheduled to begin late August in Prince Edward Island and Toronto, with principal photography running through mid-October 2026. The project marks Netflix Canada's largest production to film on Prince Edward Island, with the province investing five million dollars to bring the sun-soaked coastal romance to screen.
